Mill Hill

home built by Jacob Stirewalt in 1821 on Mill Creek in N Cabarrus County. Restored in 1938. Nearby creek dammed to provide power for a gristmill and tannery.

S Macon County between North Fork Coweeta Creek and Coweeta Creek.

Mill Landing

E Bertie County on Salmon Creek. Site of a gristmill built in 1771 by George Ryan and operated for many years; ruins still exist. Ships loaded cargo from the mill at the landing.
