rises in W Hoke County on Fort Bragg Military Reservation and flows E into Rockfish Creek. Earlier known as Old Field Branch. Leslies Mill Pond, now drained, was formerly on the creek.

Fifth Creek

rises in N central Iredell County and flows E into South Yadkin River. A portion of the stream in the Bethany Community is known as Five Mile Branch. It is the fifth in a series of creeks crossed by early settlers from Salisbury.

Figure Eight Island

E New Hanover and Pender Counties between Middle Sound and the Atlantic Ocean and extending from Mason Inlet on the S to Rich Inlet on the n. In 1965 work was begun to develop the island into a private gated resort community. A 260-foot causeway and a bridge over the Intracoastal Waterway connect it with the mainland.
