Place Description
Yawpim

appears on the Moseley map, 1733, as a community in E Pasquotank Precinct, now Camden County, on North River. The name survives elsewhere as Yeopim, which see.

Yeates Knob

Yeatesville

town in E Beaufort County on Pungo Creek. Inc. 1881, but long inactive in municipal affairs. Named for Jesse J. Yeates (1829-92), Confederate officer and member of Congress.

Yellow Bald

S Macon County between Hurricane Creek and Bearpen Creek.

Yellow Branch

rises in NE Swain County and flows SE into Raven Fork.

Yellow Buck Ridge

N Caldwell County. Named by Bryson Coffey for a large yellow buck that he killed there. Alt. approx. 1,500.

rises in N Graham County and flows W into Cheoah River.

N Graham County between the headwaters of Yellow Creek and Tuskeegee Creek.
